The programme combines the virtues of academic study with a NEW and DYNAMIC focus on self directed learning ,enterprise , work and the community.
LCVP students follow the same subject syllabuses and are assesed in the same way as their peers in the Leaving Certificate .
They must study two additional LINKS modules , Preparation for work and Enterprise Education.
These modules are recognised in points terms by Institutes of Technology and by Universities .
Have you any experience of the course either as a teacher or as a student. What are your opinions about it ?
I think this is a superb course for young people to learn to be more self sufficient and proactive in their learning. It also gives an important focus on the world of business.
ReplyDeleteLCVP is a very good course for Leaving Certificate students. Students enjoy the programme as it is very interactive for example work experience and many guest speakers visit the school. CL
ReplyDeleteI teach the new modern language module for LCVP (Spanish in this case). The students take 7 subjects plus link modules and if they achieve a distinction (80% -100%) it is the same as 70 points in the Leaving Certificate Exams.
ReplyDeleteLCVP is an excellent course option, it allows students have great insight into the world of work. It also gives you a chance to gain extra points in the Leaving Certificate.
